A Mayor  E-Learning  Project to Renovate Science Learning Environment in Taiwan
 §  Purpose: to share important information about a major e-Learning project recently funded by the National Science Council of Taiwan
      §  Thesis: develop an innovative science learning environment which integrates various modern technologies
     §  Audience: EAP students and teachers, Science Education researchers, computer science and computer engineering researchers.

II.            Renovating the science learning environment in three directions
A.    Classroom 2.0
1.      Creating an intelligent classroom environment with smart technologies

1.      Enhancing the interactions among teacher, students, and student peers through a common communication platform for ubiquitous interactions among different handheld devices.
C.     Testing 2.0
1.      Pioneering new technologies
III.           Project framework
A.    Establishing the Center for excellence in E-Learning Sciences (CeeLS)
B.     Conduct a three-year project
C.     Delineate the Project in four major stages DOIT
1.      D (Development stage)
a.       The development of a future innovative science learning environment with various new embedded technologies.
2.      O (cOllaborations stage)
a.       Collaboration among prestigious institutes around the world in designing new materials and exchanging ideas.
3.      I (Implementations stage)
a.       The development of assessment tools.
b.      The science courses will also be piloted and field tested during this period.
4.      T (Test it stage)
a.       Program evaluation stage
5.      O (Outreach programs)
a.       The results of the project efforts will have new development and instructional implications.
